Give the African woman a chance!

The women's day that is normally celebrated every year in March is an event to embrace and sediment in our systems, like never before. I get more than elated to see many people taking up the challenge to recognize the positions of women in the society. They have been undermined, assaulted and furthermore denied the chance to hold leadership positions in many societies, since time in memorial. But they still have to bear the burden of caring for their babies tirelessly.
I was perturbed by the father who went ahead to assault his own daughter some time ago and more so, issue threats to his entire family. - And we have the hands of the law in Kenya?
As if not enough, another recent story of Ruth Chepchumba - that was shown on NTV - impaired my nerves virulently. I mean, she got married at the age of 14, suffered the hustle and bustle of fending for not only her four children but her husband too, and later went back to school to score a powerful B- in the 2010s KCSE. Somebody deserves more than pats on the back. Kudos Chepchumba!
I respect her last quote,"... Ladies take me as an example... but never wait until you become an example..."
Let us learn to love, cherish and respect our mothers, sisters and wives.
Sure, God created man before woman. But then, you should always make a rough draft before a final masterpiece - the woman!
